Redesigned tools put the focus on Focus Sessions at RescueTime
The latest update from RescueTime addresses shrinking attention spans with new features and integrations.
[Seattle, Washington]: today announced the release of a major update to their popular Focus Session feature. Focus Sessions are now more customizable and offer new ways for people–especially remote workers–to avoid distractions and increase their ability to focus.
“With this release, we’ve shifted away from thinking of Focus Sessions as just a way to block distractions. The Focus Session is now a way to mindfully create the space needed to focus on the work you intend to get done. You can track your mood, listen to your favorite playlist, and even join a virtual workspace,” says Brian Fioca, founder and head of product at RescueTime. “Different people have different needs when it comes to focusing, and our new tools let our users personalize each Focus Session to meet their needs.”

This release is the result of over a year of development and testing, and marks a clear departure from the drab utilitarianism of earlier versions. Calming voiceovers, updated visuals and intuitive UI come together to make RescueTime’s Focus Sessions part of a daily work routine rather than simply a source for analytical data.
With this update, Focus Sessions now include:
Customizable distraction management
Spotify integration
Tracking for tasks or projects
Warm-up sequences to prepare for focused work
