I started as a YouTube creator in 2007 and was hooked from the start. Then in 2011 I joined YouTube and spent 11 years working there in a variety of roles, both advising channels and working on original content. Over that time I’ve accumulated a lot of indispensable knowledge about what works and why.
In addition to making videos, the most important key to understanding YouTube for me was watching and learning from other creators as they defined the platform. While there are a wide variety of ways to approach YouTube, understanding the fundamentals of areas like content strategy, audience growth, equipment, and optimization are elements that can have a major impact on success, however you define it.
