Internationally recognized cancer expert focused on the application of AI/ML models to advance precision medicine in cancers, especially leukemia. Broad AI/ML experience is transferable throughout the many important problems to be solved in healthcare, pharma, and life sciences. Demonstrated leadership experience including team building and service delivery. Excited to apply my expertise to key problems in clinical trials, cancer care, drug development, and personalized medicine. Executive Director, Global Early Drug Development

Lead the worldwide clinical development and strategic planning of multiple early-stage assets in Myelofibrosis
Spearhead the effort and strategic planning of utilizing 3D bioprinting tissue to speed up drug development in the preclinical stage.
Establish international alliances with centers worldwide to quicken the initiation of clinical trials and enhance patient enrollment and selection.
Lead a team of cross-functional experts in the development and execution of clinical early clinical trials.

Amazon Web Services | New Jersey (Virtual) World Wide Public Sector, Tech Business Development Manager, Healthcare Solutions 1/2022 – 7/2022

Lead the business development and Go-to Market Strategy for machine learning and cloud services including “Service Workbench”, “Healthlake”, and AI/ML on AWS.
Lead a Global Artificial Intelligence (AI)/Machine Learning (ML) accelerator for healthcare customers. The program is designed to expedite the transition of organization to use AI/ML in healthcare on AWS to advance their mission.
Worked with C-suites leaders, CIOs, CTOs, executive leaderships across government, public sector, hospitals, payers, pharma, and life sciences companies to execute their long-term strategy in data, machine learning/AI and cloud computing.
Worked as a subject matter expert/Business Development Manager with “Mission Accelerator Program (an engineering program that help customers accelerate their missions on AWS) to develop open source solutions to support healthcare customers globally.
World Wide public sector, Practice Manager, Data, Machine learning, and AI 2/2021 – 1/2022
Built a global unique professional service team of data scientists and machine learning engineers that supported all healthcare verticals in the public sector (government, FDA, NIH, HHS, hospitals, non-profit organization, and academic medical centers) globally at AWS. The team developed a pipeline of innovative projects that used different machine learning techniques to solve customers’ challenges and problems. These projects included: reviewing and structuring healthcare data using AI services on AWS, automation of 3D printing process, build AI models on radiological images, and many others.
Oversaw and managed the delivery of several projects that span the application of data lakes/data mesh, ML/AI, Intelligent automation, and cloud computing.
Worked as a subject matter expert in AI/ML and cloud computing to educate customers about AWS services and translate those into a clear business value proposition.
Developed AI/ML talent accelerator to help in hiring and retaining the best talent that combine healthcare and ML/AI backgrounds.

Cleveland Clinic Center for Clinical Artificial Intelligence | Cleveland, OH Director 3/2019 – 2/2021

Worked with C-suite leadership to establish a data science/AI strategy across multiple institutions at the Cleveland Clinic. Reported directly to the Chief Medical Operating Officer at the Cleveland Clinic and worked with institute chairs, CIO, and Chief Academic Officer to advance the use of AI/ML at the Cleveland Clinic.
Built a team of physician-data-scientists, researchers, and data-scientists who carried out more than 30 projects using AI/Deep Learning/Machine learning to build clinical decision-tools in cancer, internal medicine, critical care, radiology, and other areas of medicine.
Pioneered innovative approaches to the use explainable AI to build clinical decision tools.
Delivered presentations and keynotes at national and international meetings and the center was covered in the Wall Street Journal, Politico, AMA, Baker health, Modern Healthcare, and others media outlets.
Built an internal (inside Cleveland Clinic) and external collaborations (across the world) with academic centers to advance the application of AI in healthcare.
Built educational courses in the medical school and the computer science school to teach the application of AI in healthcare.

Cleveland Clinic Taussig Cancer Institute | Cleveland, OH Associate Staff, Department of Hematology and Oncology 7/2016 – 1/2021

Was an associate staff at the Cleveland Clinic Cancer Center with special focus on the treatment of leukemia patients (mainly myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS) and acute myeloid leukemia).
Developed a research portfolio of Investigator-Initiated trials, pharma sponsored trials, innovative integration of genomics/clinical data to build personalized clinical decision tools, and innovative approaches to understand the underlying genomic architecture of patients with MDS/leukemia. Led multiple international collaborations and lectured nationally and internationally in global meetings and Grand-Rounds on the topics of innovative clinical trials design, precision medicine, the integration of genomics into clinical decision tools, and the application of AI/ML in the diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment selection of leukemia patients.
Was the PI/Co-PI on more than dozen clinical trials in leukemia.
Mentored more than 15 medical students, residents, fellows and Junior faculty.

MD Anderson Cancer Center | Houston, Texas Instructor, Leukemia Department and Internal Medicine Department 7/2012 – 6/2013

Instructor in the leukemia/Internal Medicine departments with focus on clinical trials for patients with leukemia. Trials included the incorporation of clofarabine with chemotherapy in newly diagnosed AML, the combination of azacitidine with midostaurin for relapsed/refractory AML and others.
Authored/co-authored more than 50 manuscripts, abstracts (presented as posters and orals at national and international meetings), and book chapters.

Case Western University Computer Science School| Cleveland, OH Adjunct Assistant Professor, Computer Science Department 9/2019 – 1-2021

Built and taught (for 2 semesters in the fall) the first “AI In healthcare” course for computer science and biomedical undergraduate students.
