Serene Nature — Fragrance Blend

A key component of my experience in the Chemistry of Flavor and Fragrance course was the hands-on creation of a custom fragrance. This project involved a process of blending and evaluation, utilizing a provided selection of essential oils. The resulting fragrance blend — Serene Nature — reflects my ability to synthesize complex aromatic profiles and achieve a desired olfactory outcome.

Fragrance Blend Formulation

Ingredient Selection:
Top notes: Vanilla, Bergamot
Middle notes: Rose, Vetiver, Star Anise
Bottom notes: Patchouli, Cananga
Formula Outline: to achieve a 10 mL total volume, the following calculations determined the volume of each essential oil used:
Top notes: Vanilla, Bergamot → 20%
Vanilla : 1/2 x 20/100 x 10 mL = 1 mL
Bergamot : 1/2 x 20/100 x 10 mL = 1 mL
Middle notes: Rose, Vetiver, Anise → 30%
Rose : 1/3 x 30/100 x 10 mL = 1 mL
Vetiver : 1/3 x 30/100 x 10 mL = 1 mL
Star Anise : 1/3 x 30/100 x 10 mL = 1 mL

Bottom notes: Patchouli, Cananga → 50%
Patchouli : 1/2 x 50/100 x 10 mL = 2,5 mL
Cananga : 1/2 x 50/100 x 10 mL = 2,5 m

Fragrance Mood:

Serene Nature, where earth's embrace meets the whisper of woods and the warmth of spice, sweetened by a gentle touch. The breath of green, the freshness of nature, stills the soul, bringing peace to your day's journey.

Inspiration

Inspiration arose from the calming and liberating atmosphere of a sun-warmed pine forest, where a river flowed and a gentle wind carried a sense of tranquility.

Target Audience:

This fragrance embraces the grounding notes of woody vetiver, spicy star anise and earthy patchouli, often associated with a powerful, masculine depth, yet it unfolds with a nuanced elegance that resonates with every wearer (unisex).
