Toddle Connect is an AI-powered messaging platform that enables seamless communication between educators, staff, students, and families. From one-on-one chats to group channels, this page lets you manage all your school conversations in one place.

✏️ What can I do on this page?

Use this page to view, start, and manage conversations:

View and participate in conversations

Access one-on-one chats and group channels with staff, students, and family members.

Use the tabs (All, Unread, Students, Families, and Staff) or search bar to filter conversations quickly.

Start a new conversation using the ‘+’ button:

Chat – Start a one-on-one conversation with a staff member, student, or family member.

Participate in different types of group channels based on your permission:

Class channels – Automatically created for each class you teach (only the ones you teach); membership updates automatically based on class enrolments.

Family channels – Dedicated chats to communicate with your student’s family members.

Custom channel – Create and manage group chats with selected students (only the ones you teach), staff, and/or family members (if permitted).

Send and manage messages within chats and channels:

Send text messages, add attachments, emojis, audio messages, and mentions, and edit or delete messages (if permitted).

Reply to specific messages, or forward messages to other chats or channels.

Use Toddle AI (if enabled) to translate, summarise, or refine messages.

Track read receipts and mute conversations.

Manage members and channel settings (based on your permissions):

Edit custom channel details (name, image, description).

Add or remove members in custom and family channels.

Block individual students or disable messaging for all students or families in a channel.

Change channel visibility (Public or Private), mute notifications, archive channels, or leave them.

Find conversations quickly using the search bar:

Search across members, channels, messages, and shared files.

Use filters and operators to narrow results and preview message snippets.

Access Messaging from anywhere on Toddle (if permitted):

Use the messaging tray in the bottom right corner for quick access across the platform.

Open direct chats with users from Announcements, Attendance, Assignments, and other modules by hovering over their profile icons.

💡 Things to keep in mind

All chats and channels, except for 'Class channels' from the previous academic year, are carried forward to the new academic year during the Academic Year Transition.

Teachers can message any staff member in the school, but can only initiate conversations with the students they teach and their associated family members.

Class channels are automatically archived when a class is archived.

Toddle AI within messaging is available only to staff members and not to students or families.

Messaging features may vary based on whether your school uses the standard or premium Messaging module.
