Toddle Connect helps administrators monitor, manage, and support communication across the entire school community - from individual conversations to school-wide messaging insights.

✏️ What can I do on this page?

Use this page to communicate with users and oversee messaging activity across your school:

View and participate in conversations

Access one-on-one chats and group channels with staff, students, and family members.

Use the tabs (All, Unread, Students, Families, and Staff) or search bar to filter conversations quickly.

Start a new conversation using the ‘+’ button:

Chat – Start a one-on-one conversation with any staff member, student, or family member.

Participate in different types of group channels:

Class channels – Automatically created for each class; membership updates automatically based on class enrolments.

Family channels – Dedicated chats to communicate with a student’s family members.

Custom channel – Create and manage group chats with selected students, staff, and/or family members.

Send and manage messages within chats and channels:

Send text messages, add attachments, emojis, audio messages, and mentions, and edit or delete messages

Reply to specific messages, or forward messages to other chats or channels.

Use Toddle AI (if enabled) to translate, summarise, or refine messages.

Track read receipts and mute conversations.

Manage members and channel settings:

Edit custom channel details (name, image, description).

Add or remove members in custom and family channels.

Block individual students or disable messaging for all students or families in a channel.

Change channel visibility (Public or Private), mute notifications, archive channels, or leave them.

Monitor conversations across the school

Use the Overview tab to review all conversations happening across the school community.

Review flagged conversations

Identify conversations that may require attention through automatically flagged messages.

Open full conversations, generate summaries, and filter flagged messages by time period or conversation type.

Track messaging usage with analytics

Use the Analytics tab to understand how messaging is used across the school community.

View message volumes, user engagement, conversation types, and flagged message trends.

Filter insights by user or conversation type for deeper analysis.

Configure messaging settings for students and family members

Enable the messaging module for them.

Control who can initiate chats with teachers or modify their messages.

Access Messaging from anywhere on Toddle:

Use the messaging tray in the bottom right corner for quick access across the platform.

Open direct chats with users from Announcements, Attendance, Assignments and other modules by hovering over their profile icons.

💡 Things to keep in mind

Admins have visibility into all conversations and messaging insights across the school, while educators can only view conversations they are part of.

Toddle AI within messaging is available only to staff members and not to students or families.

Messaging features may vary based on whether your school uses the standard or premium Messaging module.
