Routines define the pattern of school days used to build your timetable grid. They determine how days are sequenced (weekdays or rotating cycles) and which bell schedules apply to each day.
You can create multiple routines for your school and assign them to specific grades within defined validity periods.
What can I do on this page?
Use this page to create and manage routines for your school.
Create a new routine using the Add a routine button. Configure routine details under General information: Name of routine: Enter a clear title to identify the routine. Applicable for: Select the grades for which this routine will apply. Specify the Number of days in the cycle. Define the names of days using the pencil icon: Weekdays – Uses operational weekdays (for example, Mon - Fri). Custom – Define rotating day names (for example, Day 1, Day 2) along with abbreviations. Choosing custom names converts the routine into a rotational days cycle. Validity period: Set the Starting from and Ending on dates to define how long the routine remains active. Map day patterns and bell schedules under the Mapping tab. The available options depend on the type of cycle used. Operational days cycle (Weekdays) The routine follows the school calendar and operational weekdays. No day pattern setup is required. All operational weekdays (for example, Mon - Fri) appear automatically. Map each weekday to a bell schedule. A bell schedule can be reused across multiple weekdays. Rotational days cycle (Custom days) In a rotational day cycle, you must define how cycle days progress on the calendar before mapping bell schedules. Day pattern: Choose how rotation days appear on the calendar: Cycle days progress sequentially, regardless of weekdays. Arrange the days in the order of your cycle and select the starting day. Optionally choose whether to count holidays as cycle days: If unchecked (default), the cycle day scheduled for the holiday is shifted to the next working day, preserving the sequence. If checked, the schedule that would have fallen on the holiday is skipped, and the next working day follows the next cycle day. Define rules to map weekdays to rotation days: Is equal to – Map specific weekdays to a fixed rotation day. Cycles between – Rotate through selected cycle days on chosen weekdays. Multiple rules can be combined across the week. Map bell schedules to cycle days or weekdays, based on the chosen day pattern. The order of mappings determines priority when overlaps occur. Use the three-dot menu to Edit, Duplicate, or Delete routines as needed. Things to keep in mind
Routines define the structure of the class timetable grid. Once you proceed to the Mapping tab, the cycle type and number of days cannot be changed. You can create multiple routines for the same grade, as long as their validity periods do not overlap. Bell schedules must be created before they can be mapped to routines. Routines must be fully configured before uploading timetables. To learn more about setting up the timetable for your school, check out .
