MYP criteria based grading

In MYP, students are assessed against four subject-specific criteria (A–D). Criterion levels are combined to form a total, which is then converted to the 1–7 MYP grade scale.
This page lets you define how criterion totals and interdisciplinary grades are calculated across subjects and grading periods.

What can I do on this page?

Use this page to set the rules for how MYP criterion total and interdisciplinary grades are calculated.
Choose when the total of the four MYP criteria (A–D) should be generated:
Only when all criteria are rated The total is calculated only if all four criteria have been assessed.
When one or more criteria are rated The total is calculated based on available criterion ratings, even if some criteria are not assessed.
Turn on the toggle to automatically calculate an overall grade for interdisciplinary learning.
When enabled, the interdisciplinary criteria levels are combined to form a total out of 24, which is then converted to the 1–7 MYP grade scale using the IB-defined grade boundaries for interdisciplinary learning.
Teachers can manually override the calculated grade if needed.

Things to keep in mind

These settings apply across all subjects and grading periods.
Changes affect gradebooks and any unlocked progress reports.
Interdisciplinary grades are always criteria-based; score-based grading does not apply.
