How to navigate Toddle on the web as a student?

Toddle gives you one place to manage your schoolwork and stay connected with your learning. You can access classes, view assignments, track your progress, check school updates, and communicate with your teachers.
This article will guide you through the key features available on the Toddle web platform.

Log in

When you open the Toddle webpage, you’ll find the option to log in as a student. Depending on how your school has set up your account, there are different ways you can log in. Refer to

Once you’re signed in, you’ll land on your Home page.
The cards you see on your homepage may vary depending on the configurations done by the school admin.

Profile settings

At the top of your homepage, you’ll find your name with a drop-down menu.

This menu provides access to:
My Profile: This is where you will find multiple tabs with information about your class(es), academic progress, timetable, attendance records, etc.

Language: Change the platform language and update your timezone. You can choose from one of the six languages supported.

Logout: Safely sign out of Toddle. You’ll be asked to confirm, and you can also choose to log out from all browsers and devices.

Notifications

Click the bell icon on the top-right of your homepage to view updates grouped as Primary, Announcements, and Assignments. These will help you keep in touch with your class activities, school events and more!
Additionally, you can select the gear icon on this page to open Notification settings.

Here, you can adjust your in-app, email, and push notification preferences for different triggers. Refer to to learn more about managing your notifications.

Dashboard

Now let's explore the main dashboard section that has some helpful cards and widgets.

Events

This widget shows school events planned for the next 7 days. Select View calendar to open the full calendar. You can also access the calendar from the calendar card on your dashboard or the calendar icon next to your profile name. Read

Assignments and deadlines

The Assignments and deadlines card shows all your tasks - upcoming, overdue, and those without due dates. Select View all to see the full list.

School announcements

Click on the Announcements card to view all the latest news and updates shared by your school or teachers, such as events and holidays.
On the announcements page, you’ll see a list of all announcements on the left. Click any announcement to read the details. Use the search bar or filters to find announcements quickly. To learn more about announcements, refer to

Messaging

The Messaging card is your communication hub on Toddle. All your one-on-one conversations with teachers are listed in the left pane, with the most recent at the top. Use the All, Unread, and Staff tabs to navigate your conversations. Click the + icon to start a new chat. You can search across members, messages, and files using the search bar.
Note: You can initiate a chat only if this setting has been enabled by your school admin. You can message only teachers you are associated with via a subject class or homeroom.
If your school has subscribed to Toddle Connect, you will also see a Channels tab for group conversations, including class channels, staff channels, and public channels created by your teachers or admin.

Calendar

The Calendar card shows all school events for the year, such as holidays, parent-teacher conferences, and other important activities. You’ll also see your class tasks here, so you don’t miss any deadlines.
In the calendar view, you can:
Move between months using the arrows on top.
Switch views (Agenda, Weekly, Monthly) from the top-right menu.
Use filters on the left to show or hide specific event and assignment types.
Select Subscribe to sync the calendar with your personal calendar.

Progress reports

The Progress reports card gives you access to the reports shared by your school. You can open and download them anytime.
When you open a report:
Use the left panel to switch between different courses/subjects you are mapped to.
Each course/subject section shows your grade summary for the selected grading period, including category-wise scores, overall score, and overall grade based on the grade scale set by your school.
You’ll also see your performance against the standards/skills assessed in that course.
Comments added by your teachers can also be viewed here.
Note:The information and format of the report may vary depending on the report template your school has used.

Gradebook

The Gradebook card gives you a complete view of your performance across courses or subjects.
It has four tabs:
Final grades: A summary of your performance across all courses or subjects. For each course or subject, you can see your overall score and final grade for the selected grading period, based on the grade scale configured by your school.

Assessments: Select a course or subject to see a grade summary for the chosen grading period - including category-wise scores, overall score, and final grade. Below the summary, a table shows all tasks shared by your teacher, with each column reflecting your performance based on the assessment tools used.
Note: The Gradebook shows only the evaluations your teacher has shared with you. What is visible in your Gradebook may also vary based on the gradebook visibility settings configured by your school admin.

Standards: For the selected course or subject, you can see your grades against the associated learning standards. You can filter by grading period or academic year. If a standard has child standards, the system shows a calculated roll-up grade. Click any grade cell to see a detailed evaluation history for that standard across assessments.

Skills: The Skills tab shows your progress against the learning goals your school has configured. Use the term tabs to switch between grading periods, or select the academic year tab to see your progress across the full year. You can also use the search bar and the Subject and Skills dropdowns to filter the view. Click any skill to open a detail panel showing the evaluation history .

Timetable

The Timetable card shows your daily class schedule at a glance.
In the timetable view, you can:
Navigate between weeks using the arrows at the top.
See the subjects, times, and rooms for each period.
Download your weekly schedule as a PDF for easy reference.

Attendance

The Attendance card shows your overall presence percentage.
In the attendance view, you can:
See a category-wise breakdown of your attendance (Present, Absent, Medical).
Check class-wise presence to know your attendance percentage for each class.
View detailed records for each day or period.
Access your excusal history under the Excusals tab.

My goals

The My goals card helps you set personal goals, break them into milestones, and track progress.
In this section, you can:
Create new goals using the Create goal button.
Add milestones with target dates to track smaller steps toward your main goal.
Mark goals as Ongoing or Completed and switch between these views at the top.
Add work or comments to your goals, and receive feedback from teachers.
Teachers can also monitor your goals, provide feedback, mark them as complete, or add new goals for you.

School policies and resources

The School policies and resources card contains important documents and official resources shared by your school.
In this section, you can:
View and download files such as policy documents, guidelines, or reference material.
Switch between list view and grid view using the icons at the top-right.

Behaviour management

The Behaviour management card shows incidents that your school has published and shared with you.
On the landing page, a table shows your incidents organised by category, title, sub-category, severity level, and action status. Click any incident to view its full details
You can use the search icon to find a specific incident, the column display icon to choose which columns are visible, or the download icon to export your incident data as a spreadsheet.
Note: The name of this module and the terms used for Incident, Action, and Level may vary depending on the terminology configured by your school.

Note: Your may also see third-party learning tools, such as McGraw-Hill, as additional cards on your dashboard if they have been set up. For this article, we have covered the most commonly occurring cards.

Classes

From the homepage, scroll down to the My Classes section to see all the classes you are part of. Each class is linked to a course you are enrolled in.
When you open a class, you’ll find everything you need to stay on track, your Course plan, Assignments, , Portfolio, and Class Announcements. You can also use the class switcher on the left to quickly move between your different classes.
At the bottom-left of the class sidebar, you'll find two quick-access options:
Bell icon — opens your overall notifications panel, giving you access to all your notifications across Primary, Announcements, and Assignments tabs without leaving the class.
Logout — signs you out of Toddle directly from within a class.

Course plan

The Course plan is the central space where you can view all the learning content your teachers have shared with you. It brings together units, assignments, learning experiences, and resources in one place, so you can clearly see what you’ll be working on throughout the course.
Here, you can switch between the following tabs:
In the Flow view, you can explore the entire course content in a structured layout. You’ll also see status indicators (such as submission pending or evaluated) next to each task, making it easy to track your progress at a glance. You can use filters to narrow down items by content type or status, and adjust display settings to show or hide the course outline, collapse/expand folders, or choose how task/ resource thumbnails are displayed.

In the Card view, you’ll see all units associated with the course that are shared with you. By clicking on any card, you can dive into the unit details and explore all associated learning experiences, assignments, and resources.

The Timeline view shows all the units of your course arranged on the academic calendar. This helps you see when each unit will be taught during the school year and how your learning is spread out over time.

Assignments

This section has details of the various tasks assigned to you. You can easily navigate between the tasks to be done and those that are already completed from the panel on top of the screen. You can also submit your responses and view your teacher’s evaluation here. Read

Portfolio

The Portfolio is where you can document your learning journey, drawing evidence from daily classroom activities throughout the year. What you can see in the Portfolio depends on the settings configured for your class. You'll see posts created by your teachers where you are tagged, along with any posts you create yourself. Depending on your class settings, you may also be able to see posts where other students in your class are tagged.
To create a new post, simply tap on the ‘Create post’ button on the top right. Learn more about creating posts
. You can also upload your task submissions as portfolio posts right from your Toddle classroom. Refer to to learn more about it.
Note: Posts you create may require teacher approval before they appear in the class feed, depending on your class settings. Until approved, they remain in an in-approval stage.

Class announcements

Here, you can find announcements posted by your teacher specifically for your class. Click any announcement to view its full details, including the title, description, sender, and date. You can search for a specific announcement or use the filter to narrow results by creator or publish date.

Access data from the previous academic year

To view data from a previous academic year, navigate to your homepage and click on the arrow next to the current academic year, as shown below. Next, click on the ‘Academic year’ card and choose any of the previous academic years.

Once you switch to a previous academic year, a yellow banner will appear at the top of the page to indicate that you are viewing a past academic year.
All sections from previous years on Toddle are accessible just like the current year, but in view-only mode, with no option to modify content. Additionally, notifications from past years will not be visible.
