Let’s learn about these insights in detail.
School insights
The School insights page gives you a school-wide view of curriculum coverage. It displays insight cards for Approaches to Learning, Global Contexts, Learner profile attributes, and any custom datasets enabled for planning insights.
Approaches to learning
The Approaches to learning (ATL) table shows how ATL skills are distributed across all MYP years.
Rows represent ATL skill categories and their sub-skills Columns represent MYP years (MYP 1–5) plus a Total courses column showing unique coverage across the programme Use the toggle at the top of the table to switch between count modes:
Course count: how many courses include each skill Unit count: how many units include each skill Task count: how many assessments and learning experiences address each skill Use the following controls:
Use the search bar to find a specific ATL skill. Click any count to open a pop-up listing the contributing units or tasks. Expand any ATL skill row to view its sub-skills. Use Configure columns to show or hide specific MYP year columns. To explore other school-level insights, use the dropdown next to the section title.
Global contexts
The Global contexts table shows how the 6 MYP Global Contexts are distributed across all MYP years.
Rows represent the 6 Global Contexts Columns represent MYP years (MYP 1–5) plus a total count column Use the toggle to switch between Course count and Unit count. Use the search bar to find a specific Global Context.
Click any count to view the contributing courses or units.
Learner profile attributes are tracked in the same way as ATL skills: the table shows a course count, unit count, and task count across all MYP years. Click any count to view the contributing courses, units, or tasks.
Note: Custom datasets appear in the dropdown alongside Global contexts and follow the same view, showing a course count and unit count only. Task counts are not available for custom datasets. Custom datasets must be enabled by a school administrator and included in planning insights calculation.
View by department
View by department lets coordinators and department heads analyze how a specific subject group addresses curriculum elements across all MYP years. The landing page displays all subject groups as cards. Click any card to open the detailed view for that department.
