How can I navigate Toddle as a student on the app?

Toddle is your school’s all-in-one learning platform. Once you sign in, your dashboard gives you access to everything - your classes, grades, schedule, messages, and more. This article walks you through all the features of the Toddle app.

Sign in to Toddle

Open the Toddle app on your device. On the sign-in screen, choose how you want to sign in:
Tap Sign in code to use a code or QR code provided by your school.
Tap Email, Google, Microsoft, or Clever to sign in using your account credentials.

Manage your profile and account settings

Tap your profile photo in the top-left corner of your homepage to open your profile.

My profile

Your profile displays your name and photo. Tap Connect to link your Google or Microsoft account for easy access to features that require signing in to either account.

Language and timezone

Tap Language and timezone to change the language the app displays in and set your preferred timezone.

Curriculum and year

Tap Curriculum and year to switch between academic years and view past records.
Note: When you switch to a previous academic year, all content is available in read-only mode. You cannot edit or submit work, and notifications from that year are not shown. A banner at the top of the screen indicates that you are viewing a past year.

Notification settings

This option lets you set your notification preferences by selecting where and when you want to be notified. Read to learn more about how you can manage your notifications.

Sign out

Tap Logout to sign out of the app.

View notifications

Tap the bell icon in the top-right corner of your homepage to view your notifications. A red badge on the bell shows the number of unread notifications.
Your notifications are organised into three tabs:
Primary - a catch-all for all general notifications from across the app
Announcements - school announcements from your teachers or school admin that are shared with you
Assignments - notifications related to your tasks, submissions, and deadlines
At the top of the notifications panel, you have three options:
Mark all as read - marks all notifications across tabs as read at once
Show only unread - filters the list to show only notifications you haven't read yet
Gear icon - manages when and how you receive notifications. Read to learn more.

Your homepage

After signing in, you land on your homepage. This is your central hub - everything on Toddle is accessible from here.
The homepage shows cards for each module available to you. Tap any card to open that module.
Note: The cards you see on your homepage may vary depending on the configurations done by your school admin.
School announcements
School announcements shared with you by your school's staff appear here. You can filter announcements by creator, class, publish date, or status, and search for specific announcements. Tap any announcement to read the full message.

Assignments and deadlines
All your tasks across every class are organized into 3 tabs: To-do, Not submitted, and Done. Under To-do, tasks are grouped by Upcoming, Overdue, and No due date. You can filter by class or task type.

Attendance
Your full attendance record for the current academic year. You can view your overall attendance percentage along with a day-wise breakdown, a period-by-period breakdown, or both, depending on how your school has set up attendance.
Tap View breakdown to see your attendance split by the categories set by your school (such as Present, Absent, Excused). You can also view a record of your excusals.

Behaviour management
A record of behaviour incidents that your school has shared with you. Only published incidents are visible here; draft incidents do not appear. You can filter and search for specific incidents. Incidents appear under two tabs:
Published: incidents that have been logged and shared with you by your school
Resolved: incidents that have been marked as resolved by your school

Calendar
A combined view of school events and assignment deadlines across all your classes. You can filter by class or event type, switch between a daily view or by agenda, and navigate between dates.

Gradebook
Your academic progress is organized across different tabs, accessible from the bottom of the screen:
Note: The tabs available in your gradebook may vary depending on the curriculum you are enrolled in.
Assessments - view your grades on individual assessments, organized by subject and term

Standards - view your grades against learning standards, organized by subject and grading period

Messaging
Your school's messaging hub. You can send and receive messages one-on-one or through class channels, staff channels, and public channels. Use the All, Unread, Staff, and Public channels tabs to navigate your conversations. You can also search across members, channels, messages, and files.
Note: Channels are available only if your school has subscribed to Toddle Connect. You will be able to initiate a conversation with your teacher only if the relevant setting is enabled by your school admin.

My goals
A space to set and track your personal learning goals. You can create a goal with a title and target date, then break it down into milestones. Use the Ongoing and Completed tabs to track your progress. Tap the + button to add a new goal.

Progress reports
All progress reports published by your school are available here. Tap any report to view it. You can also download a report as a PDF by tapping the download icon next to it.

School policies
A library of documents and files shared by your school - such as policies, handbooks, and reference materials. You can search for a file and download it directly from the app.

Timetable
Your daily class schedule, showing all periods for each day. Use the navigation arrows to move between days.

Note: Your school may also display third-party learning tools, such as McGraw Hill, as additional cards on your dashboard if they have been set up. For the purpose of this article, we have covered the most commonly occuring cards.

Your classes

The Classes section below the module cards shows all your currently enrolled classes. Tap any class to open it.
Inside a class, you can navigate using the tabs at the bottom of the screen. Here is what each section contains.
Course plan
View the teaching content your teacher has planned and shared with you. Your teacher organises content into units and may create folders within units to group related tasks and resources. Tap any task to open it, read the instructions, submit your work, or leave a comment.
Use the dropdown at the top right to switch between views:
Flow: a linear view showing all units, folders, and tasks in sequence
Card: a visual layout showing your units as cards
You can also use the search bar to find specific content, or tap the filter icon to narrow down tasks.

Assignments
View and complete your assigned tasks. Use the To-do tab for pending work and the Done tab to see completed submissions. You can filter by tag or status and search for a specific assignment.

Portfolio
A space to document your learning journey throughout the year. You can view all published posts you have been tagged in and save your own posts as drafts before submitting them for teacher approval.
Tap the + button at the top right to create a new post. You can add photos, videos, audio recordings, files, links, and more, and tag your peers, folders, and learning goals to the post, if enabled by your school.
Use the Published and Draft tabs to navigate your posts. You can also search for specific posts or use the filter to narrow posts down by folder, student, or date.

Class announcements
Messages posted by your teacher specifically for your class. Tap any announcement to view its full details, including the title, description, sender, and date. You can search for a specific announcement or use the filter to narrow results by creator or publish date.

Notifications
Notifications mention any activity updates specific to this class.

Note: Tap the class name at the top of any class screen to open a dropdown and switch to a different class without going back to your dashboard.
