Progress reports on Toddle enable you to record and report a student’s progress and achievements throughout the year, providing valuable insights into their learning journey at school.
You can create reports for a single grading period or multiple grading periods. With multi-grading period reports, you can track and report student performance across multiple grading periods within a single report card. This flexible feature allows you to gain valuable insights into student progress over time, making it easier to monitor growth and learning.

To get started, go to the Admin portal for your preferred school and navigate to Reporting setup in the left pane.
Create a Multi-grading period report template
In the Reporting setup module, select Progress report templates from the menu on the left. Click on Create report template in the top-right corner, and choose Multi-grading period report option. This template allows you to report on multiple grading periods, including independent and/or cumulative grading periods.
In the pop-up modal, enter a name for the template and map the relevant grades you want to include. Once completed, click Create.
Inside the report template, configure the layout and report elements as required. Sections linked to grading periods, such as subject reports and attendance, display the multi-grading period view.
In the preview panel, you can review how grades and scores will appear across the selected grading periods and add ratings on additional grade scales where applicable.
Once you complete the configuration, click on Save and exit, and move on to creating a report set.
Note: For detailed steps on creating and configuring a progress report template, refer to . Create a Multi-grading period progress report set
After configuring the template, you can create a progress report set. Navigate to Progress report sets from the left pane.
Click on Create report set → Multi-grading period report to proceed.
In the modal that opens, fill in the required details. Add a title for the report, select the grading periods to include, and choose the relevant classes. You can also review details such as the date of creation, task deadline, and attendance configuration before proceeding.
Unlike a single grading period report, a multi-grading period report allows you to select more than one grading period. You can choose individual grading periods or cumulative grading periods, depending on how you want to report student progress.
Note: A cumulative grading period consolidates student performance from multiple grading periods into a single period, providing an overall evaluation across selected grading periods. For example, single grading periods such as Term 1 and Term 2 can be combined into a cumulative grading period, Semester 1, offering a holistic view of student achievement over both grading periods. You can configure how scores from individual grading periods are calculated to determine the cumulative score under Admin portal > Grading setup > Final grade setup.
Once all details are entered, click the Next button.
The Edit student list modal opens. Here, you can review and update the list of students included in the report set.
Use the search bar to find a student quickly. Students are grouped by class or grade. Use the checkbox next to a group name (for example, Grade 4) to select or deselect all students in that group. To make changes for specific students, select or clear the checkbox next to individual student names. After you confirm the student list, select Create to create the multi-grading period report set.
View grades in a multi-grading period report
In a multi-grading period report, teachers can evaluate student performance across all grading periods included in the report set. Here is how grades are displayed across sections in a multi-grading period report:
Subject/Course reports
In the Subject/Course reports section, teachers can view or update scores and grades under Grade summary across all grading periods included in the report. Scores and grades are pre-filled from the class gradebook for the selected grading periods and can be overridden in the report.
Note: Assessment category scores are not displayed in a multi-grading period report.
Just like scores and grades under Grade summary, ratings for Standards and Skills (Learning goals) are pre-filled from the gradebook for the selected grading periods. However, teachers can add new ratings directly in the progress report. For each grade scale and learning goal, teachers can also view students’ grading history. For example, if the report includes Term 1, Term 2, and a cumulative grading period, Semester 1 (T1 + T2):
In Term 1, only Term 1 ratings will appear in the grading history. In Term 2, ratings from both Term 1 and Term 2 will be shown. In Semester 1, the grading history will show ratings for both Term 1 and Term 2. Note: The configuration of learning standards and skills (learning goals) in progress reports is grading period agnostic. Any criteria or learning goals you enable are available for rating across all grading periods. If you choose not to rate a criterion or learning goal for a specific grading period, leave it unrated. In the downloaded report, the field appears blank to indicate that no rating was provided.
Progress summary
The Progress summary page provides a compact view of grades achieved by students in all subjects/courses across the grading periods linked to the progress report set.
Note: Based on the template configuration decided by the admin, this page may also include Homeroom adviser comments and Attendance sections.
That's all for now. We will continue to innovate and improve to make your Toddle experience better each day!
