Final grades provide a single, overall measure of a student’s performance in a subject or course for each grading period.
On this page, you configure which grade scales are used and how final grades are calculated - whether from assignment scores, standards performance, or manual entry.
What can I do on this page?
Use this page to configure final grade calculation rules across grading periods.

For each grading period and grade scale, select one calculation method: Score / letter-based grading
Final grades are calculated from assignment scores. If categories are used, category scores are calculated first and combined using weights. If categories are not used, assignment scores are combined directly. The final numeric score is then converted into the selected grade scale. Standards-based grading
Final grades are derived from student performance on learning standards. Ratings are calculated at the standard level using the mapped grade scale. Horizontal and vertical roll-up methods are applied. The resulting parent standard score is converted into the final grade scale. Manually assign a grade
Final grades are entered manually by teachers and are not auto-calculated. Bulk apply final grade settings:
Use Bulk apply to configure final grade rules for multiple subjects or courses at once. Things to keep in mind
Bulk apply only affects grading periods that are configured during the bulk setup. Primary grade scales are used wherever only one final grade can be shown (e.g., transcripts). Dependent grade scales can be added to convert results into alternative reporting formats. Changes apply to future grade calculations and do not retroactively alter locked grades.
