Attendance categories lets you define how teachers mark student attendance and how it is calculated across your schools.
Each category (e.g., Present, Absent, Excused) can have multiple attendance codes under it (e.g., Late, Sick Leave), and each code can be tailored for individual schools. These codes will be visible to teachers when they mark attendance from within a class.

Attendance categories are common across all schools, but the codes are defined specifically for each school. The first category, Present, is created by default and cannot be deleted. You cannot delete a category or code if attendance has already been marked against it. When schools have different attendance values for the same code, the platform will show multiple values. These can be reviewed and adjusted. To learn more about configuring attendance-related setup, check out .
