Archer’s Engine Line

30 days/year of unplanned downtime prevented

Before Arda

Restocking is tedious & Inefficient: Each material transfer request requires ~30 steps to complete and tags 17 people on Slack.
SAP Is Not The Source Of Truth: Counts in SAP are not correct and transfer requests are augmented by a Slack workflow.
Production is delayed 30 days/year : 1–2 weekly stockouts stop the line for 2-4 hours. Over the course of a year, that’s 30 days of downtime.

Approach

Physical Kanban Cards: Technicians moved cards to drop point for replenishment.
Digital Workflow: Cards were scanned into Arda, triggering reorder signals without Slack threads or PDFs.
Lightweight Integration: Arda created an integration framework for Jira and SAP, reducing reordering workflow friction.

Results

Stockouts Eliminated: Four consecutive weeks without a single stockout.
Technicians Love It: Cards were intuitive and quickly became part of daily routines.
Downtime Eliminated: Arda eliminated 30 days of unplanned downtime per year. When asked, it was valued as “priceless”.

"We did not have a single stock out during this month. The technicians really took to it. They thought it was super easy. My part was also easy when it came to me. What I needed to do was very clear, and I know we have plenty of parts, so that was already a huge success."
