This mode is denoted by the sync mode icon and “CZone” label. In CZone mode, the regulator receives battery data (current, voltage, and temperature) via CANbus from a Mastervolt MLI Ultra battery, eliminating the need to install a separate battery shunt. The charge profile set in the ARCO App is used to control charging. Refer to the battery datasheet to set the appropriate charge profile.
CZone Configuration
Mastervolt MLI Ultra batteries can operate on either MasterBus or CZone networks. The Zeus-CZone integration supports only the CZone network. Therefore, the batteries must be configured to use CZone. See Mastervolt MLI Ultra ‘User and Installation Manual’ for instructions. Use the Mastervolt-CZone NMEA 2000 drop cable to connect the Zeus regulator to either the Mastervolt MLI battery’s CAN port or to the MasterBus Interface.
Zeus Configuration
1. In the ARCO App, connect to your regulator and navigate to the Settings.
2. Set the Sync Mode to “CZone”.
3. Set the Battery Instance to match the configuration of the master battery in the CZone Config Tool or MasterAdjust. Valid battery instance values range from 1 to 252. The Zeus regulator will only process battery status messages from the specified instance.
System Diagram
Note: The diagram illustrates a complete system that includes a Zeus regulator, Mastervolt MLI battery, MasterBus Interface, Mastervolt CombiMaster, EasyView 5 display, and terminator resistors. However, for charging purposes, a simplified setup using only the Zeus regulator, Mastervolt MLI battery, and two terminator resistors is sufficient.
BMS Stop Charge Command
When the battery is full or the BMS requires charge to stop, it will send a 'Stop Charge' command via CAN bus to the Zeus regulator. In response, Zeus will disable the alternator field, switch to standby mode, and display the message: "Leader Command Ignition Disabled". Once the battery is ready to receive charge, it will send a command via CAN bus, prompting Zeus to resume the charging sequence.
