This is something that you can assign before the first class with your new IELTS students to see what their strengths and weaknesses are, and make realistic predictions and promises as to their desired band score (given the deadline).

It may seem like a lot, so you may want to ask them to plan ahead and do the tasks over the span of a week before your first class. More confident students may try to do everything in one sitting to increase the cognitive challenge and try to reproduce the actual exam conditions.

If your students are completely new to IELTS, tell them not to worry about the format and just focus on ideas and language in Speaking and Writing.
