10 Minutes Gathering Liturgy on the Playground
1. Activating Movement Activity: Before there was ANYTHING, what was there?
5 Minutes led by Anthony
ᵉlōhîm God
ḥōšek darkness
tōhû va bōhû empty and formless
tᵉhôm deep
rûaḥ God’s Spirit
rāḥap hovering
mayim waters
This is what the world was before anything was created.
But then God started making things. An ABUNDANCE of things. Define abundance.
Our Season of Creation starts by appreciating each and every thing God made. But what exactly did God make . . . ? Does any one know the very first thing God made? Segue to altar.
2. Creation of a Very Good Altar
5 Minutes led by Emily and Molly
Ahead of this activity, Anthony will prepare a basket with these materials.
Choose 1 child to bring each item up to the altar and place it on the table. Affirm each child.
Day 1: Light! God separated the light from the darkness.(Use a piece of white and black paper separate and place on the altar). Day 2: Sky and Atmosphere (Puffy cloud in Resource Room) Day 3: Land, Seas, and Vegetation (Dirt, Cruet of Water, a living plant) Day 4: Sun and Moon and Stars (Light ball we have, near the choir) Day 5: Ocean Life and Avian Life (Stuffed fish, bird eggs) Day 6: Terrestrial Life and Humans (play animals and people upstairs resource room) Day 7: Rest / Sabbath Ask everyone to take a deep breath with you. God made all of these things and APPRECIATE them! God loves

Communicating with Fireflies
We're taking our closing activity to the next level this month with an immersive experience that teaches the children about communication through the language of fireflies. Along with using mini flashlights to create rhythmic patterns, we'll be transforming our classroom into a nighttime forest complete with ambient sounds.
Roles:
Emily and Anne and Molly You'll sit in the circle with me to guide the children through the patterns. Help ensure each child understands the rhythm and the meaning behind each pattern. Davorka: You're responsible for distributing and collecting the mini flashlights. Place them in the center of the circle at the beginning and collect them at the end. Carol: You'll manage the master lighting, the ambient music, and the door. Turn off the lights and turn on ambient forest sounds when I give you the signal. Also, keep an eye on the door for incoming parents. Week 1 Firefly Patterns:
Meaning: Basic communication; "I am here." Flashlight Rhythm: Two clicks (ON-OFF).
Flashlight Rhythm: Four clicks (ON-OFF, ON-OFF).
