If you are not covered by a statutory health insurance in Germany, you must request a confirmation of your health insurance status from any statutory health insurance provider in Germany. Following enrollment, you’ll receive an email with information on transferring the

. One or two weeks after this payment is received, the semester paperwork will be generated and sent to you by post or to the International Office (for Erasmus students).

Please note that this portal currently only provides functions for study application and study administration (enrollment, re-registration information, certificate of study, etc.). Self-service functions for exams and courses can currently be found in the portal BASIS. Digital student ID cardThe digital student ID card is available in the Uni Bonn App. If you cannot or do not want to use the Uni Bonn App, you can alternatively verify your student status with a certificate of enrolment. DeutschlandsemesterticketThe Deutschlandsemesterticket is also available in the Uni Bonn App for students with ticket entitlement for the winter semester from the beginning of September and for the summer semester from the beginning of March. If you cannot or do not want to use the Uni Bonn App, please contact the Student Registry.

Enrol at your university

Universities in Germany will either ask you to enroll online, or enrolment can be done locally once you are in Germany. You will only receive the enrolment certificate (Immatrikulationsbescheinigung), once your enrolment has been completed. A notification will be sent from your university to your health insurance provider following a successful enrolment.
