Trauma

I would manage a major trauma case according to the EMST guidelines. This would involve primary and secondary surveys as well as resuscitation and intervention where appropriate. My initial non-clinical concerns would be forming a team, mobilising resources and alerting theatres and/or retrieval. My initial clinical concern would conducting the primary survey using an A-E approach.

My specific concerns with this patient are x, y and z. My broad concerns with any paediatric case would be past medical history, previous anaesthetic problems encountered by the patient or direct relatives, recent respiratory illness, fasting status and determining the best approach to induction of anaesthesia.

Assessment of ICU Patient Requiring OT

My primary concerns with this patient are x, y and z. In addition to my usual assessment, I would want to know the specific indication for the procedure, the pertinent issues they have encountered during their admission, and to perform an A-E assessment at the bedside. The specific features of the A-E assessment I am interested in are:

A: history of, or anticipated, difficult airway

B: current FiO2, SpO2, ventilation mode and ventilatory pressures

C: BP, HR, vasopressor/inotrope support, lines

D: baseline GCS, sedation

E: temperature and temperature management goals (if any)
