Product Preferences: Email Clients

💡 Idea overview
Name any product you love and any product you despise and explain your reasoning for both cases
🛤 Mission Alignment
The purpose of this exercise is to better understand my reasoning behind decision making on product utilization, and trust.
🔬 Scope
For the sake of this exercise I am going to scope it to one specific niche so we could do a rational comparison between multiple products then make an informed decision / preference between a product that I love Vs a product that I like less.
📨 Topic: Email Clients
Did you know?
There are over 4 billion email users worldwide.
Over 3 million emails are sent every second.
There are over 7 billion email accounts.
95% of consumers check email every day.
Nearly 60%. of email users check their spam folder daily.
The average user has at least 1.75 email accounts
Email Industry Stats
Apple has the largest client market share, followed by Gmail.
An industry valued at $47 billion in 2020, and is estimated to reach $73 billion in 2023.
On average people receive 121 emails and send around 40 other per day.
⚠️ What is the problem to be solved?
A survey by found people in the work place spend on average 3.1 hours per day sending and checking their emails alone, amounting to 15.5 hours per week - and a shocking 20 full weeks of the year.
On a personal level, at some point in time, I had more than 7 email addresses that I needed to check on daily basis, therefore, I needed to figure out what’s the personal productive framework first (I even created an email series about it, ) , then what is a product that would allow me to be more efficient on Mac apparels.
💻 Product Comparison

For the sake of this exercise, I have tried to consolidate the features into 7 relevant attributes that make sense to me as an email power user. Then I tried to grade these products on a scale of 1 to 5, while 1 being poor, and 5 being excellent, then adding a subjective weight based on my needed framework.
