Points of attention:

Anything mentioned in content has to be included in next years course.
Expand the content of your course beyond two sentences. Have a clear topic but avoid going too specific to maintain course agility.
Give students a chance to retake their course grades fully unless you can make a clear exception eg. Group based projects.
Think very good about your course format, eg. if your course says it has "activerend hoorcollege" then you HAVE to hold theory sessions. Please approach me if you have doubts
Anything that is not in the Study Material list we cannot later force a student to acquire!
Watch out with hardware requirements your course is shared with another major that might not have the same material requirements resulting in an unexpected cost. eg. Drawing tablet

OC edits/Comments
Removed the last sentence mentioning the building of strong analytical skills. Analysis is not in the learning goals and is a higher order thinking skill as opposed to knowing/understanding making it not fit well in a first semester course. Analysis is something we focus more on practically in later Game Design courses so its fine to leave it out here.

Content NL
Content EN
Game Design Fundamentals offers an introduction to the core concepts, language, and ways of thinking that shape the field of game design. Through a mix of theory, discussion, and critical analysis, students will explore what defines games and play, how games express ideas and engage players, and what tools designers use to craft meaningful experiences. The course also touches on professional and collaborative habits essential to game design and development. This class lays the groundwork for more advanced, hands-on design work by helping students build a strong conceptual understanding of games and their design.

Other remarks for the dear Coordinator
Not final but add any preemptive thoughts on course desiderata eg. hour distribution between labs, desired team, classroom type....
