Frequently asked questions

What’s the difference between Account Type and Membership Status?
Account Type is what GT uses to define accounts with different privileges. Think of Account Type as similar to Google Drive permission levels. In Google Drive, you have Viewer, Commenter, and Editor.
Membership Status is what your status is in relation to aKDPhi. This is what we normally think of as Active, Inactive, Affiliate, etc.
Why do we update Account Type instead of Membership Status in GreekTrack?
Account Types are tied to Member Statuses in GT. Whenever you set someone with the Inactive Account Type, ILB receives a request to change their Membership Status to Inactive as well. ILB will go through GT regularly to approve or deny membership status changes. This may be why statuses do not immediately change after you’ve already changed their Account Type.
