How to manually configure server on Polycom phone

To manually configure server on a polycom phone please do the following steps.

Please note before doing the steps below, ENSURE MAC BASE PROVISIONING IS OPEN FOR THE EXTENSION

in the main screen, press the home key.

3. Go to Advanced

4. Enter the password for the phone. If it’s a brand new phone it will be 456, if it’s configured by the PBX already, use the configured password. If none of the passwords work, you will need to factory reset the phone.

5. Go to Administration Settings

6. Go to Network Configuration

7. Go to Provisioning Server

8. Change Server Type from FTP to HTTP

Select Server Type and then scroll down to HTTP and select it

You should then see HTTP on the Server Type

9. Go to Server Address and hit edit

Enter the new domain using the keypad

Final result should look something like this

You can find the domain that needs to be entered here in BO.

10. Press ok and it will take you back to the provisioning setting

11. Verify that the server address and the server type are correct, then hit the back button. The screen will then take you back to the Network Configuration, hit back again.

12. You will then be presented with the save screen. Highlight Save Config and then hit the Select Button.

Once done, keep hitting back until the phone goes to the main home screen. The phone may reboot on it’s own while doing this, if it does not, Reboot the phone manually by unplugging the phone and plugging it back in. The phone will now try to contact the new provisioning server when attempting to connect.
