Lotus Map Theory – Macro & Fundamentals

Slide 1 – Intro

Lotus inherits Haven’s 3-site structure but adds defensive advantages to balance the map.
The defensive setup starts with massive space control from the start.
Objective: Learn to maximize defensive space advantage and counter it on attack.

Slide 2 – Core Map Characteristics

Low Neutral Space: Defense owns most of the map from round start.

Fast Rotations: Central B site & connector network make shifting between sites quick.

Difficult Retakes: Once attackers take a site, re-entry is challenging due to choke points.

Slide 3 – Defensive Philosophy

3 Goals:
Constant Information Gathering – Push or utility into neutral zones to track attacker movement.
Space Control & Delay – Force attackers to burn utility early, then slowly give space.
Proactive Rotations – Shift quickly based on info, avoid flanks (keeps attack rotation disadvantage intact).

Slide 4 – Why No Flanks?

Flanking turns the attacker’s slow rotation disadvantage into your own.
On Lotus, fast rotations mean you can stack sites faster than attackers can pivot.
Prioritize collapsing on site before plant, not after.

Slide 5 – Example Rotation Reaction

Raze Killjoy see nothing C → place deep util → rotate off.
Attacker utility is drained before main push.
A-site gains +2 defenders before push hits.

Slide 6 – Site Overload

Space is given only when necessary.
Reads & info allow 4–5 defenders to be on site before attackers commit.
Ideal defensive hold: attackers face overstacked site with reduced util.

Slide 7 – Attacking Adjustments

Early rounds: Probe all three sites to force defensive rotation reveals.
Pressure neutral space to drain defender utility before committing.
Fake rotations to punish proactive defensive shifts.
Use late-mid hits to catch defenders mid-rotate.

Slide 8 – Key Takeaways

Defense: Info > Space > Rotate.
Offense: Bait Info > Burn Utility > Commit Late.
On Lotus, the winner is usually the team who manages rotations more efficiently.
