UNESCO's Five Pillars of Learning

We learn to know,
where we strive for a broad general knowledge and in depth understanding of a small number of subjects.

We learn to do,
as we apply skills in different situations.

We learn to live together,
aiming to understand other people and our interdependence.

We learn to be,
by developing personally to make better choices and become more responsible.

And we learn to transform oneself and society.
This is about individuals working separately and together to change the world. This means gaining the knowledge, values and skills needed for transforming attitudes and lifestyles.
