Rotation: The spinning of the Earth on its axis.
Revolution: The movement of the Earth around the Sun.
Axis: An imaginary line around which the Earth spins.
Orbit: The fixed path the Earth takes around the Sun.
Northern Hemisphere: The top half of the Earth.
Southern Hemisphere: The bottom half of the Earth.
Equator: An imaginary line dividing the Earth into two equal halves.
Leap Year: A year with 366 days, occurring every four years.
Hemisphere: Half of a sphere or globe, as in the northern and southern hemispheres of the Earth.
Tilt: The angle at which the Earth's axis is inclined relative to its orbital plane.
Day: The period of light when a given location is facing the Sun.
Night: The period of darkness when a given location is facing away from the Sun.
