Shelving Instructions...

We have 59inches from top of quartz to bottom.

Cabinet Spacing

Each cabinet is 1x12 (8ft in length)
15 inch space for 1st cabinet (1 inch for the board)
12 inch seperation for 2nd cabinet (1 inch for the board)
12 inch seperation for 3rd cabinet (1 inch for board)
12 inch seperation for 4th cabinet (1 inch for board)
Total Space : 55 inches
Now we built a 5 inch header box on the top with plywood and cover with molding to make it seamless
Lets make sure I pick th molding Dont buy it without me... I may do flat/square molding on the top and bottom to match

Plywood or MDF back Panel Sheet

We need to use a 1/4 inch pluwood or MDF sheet for the back. We should not see the wall

Face Frame & shelf Edges... and Scribe Molding

Use plywood to build a 5 inch base and a 5 inch header. Then cover with flat MDF molding I will pick.
Use scribe molding to fill in any side gaps between the shelves and the walls if uneven gaps.
We will need 1x2 MDF trim for your shelf faces and edges. Line them up so the shelf has a flush, flat surface- let the overhang be at the top of the shelf below.

Build 5inch base and 5 inch header

1x2 MDF Face Fame and side edges. We need to use these face frames around all of the edges
image.png
Make sure the face trim is flush and level with the shelf its attached two. Since its 2 inches, it will overhang by an inch over the top of the lower cabiner. The top one has to be level.

It should look like this.... perfectly level and flush with the cabinet with the overhang below.
If you’re filling mitred corners like on the baseboard around the cased opening- use wood fill here, it’s much more durable. Always caulk before you paint- it will hold up so much better! Caulk collects dust and doesn’t wipe away as easy as dust on painted surface.
Look at this molding and trim on the top and Bottom...

We have to have a space between the wall and the cabinet
